Robert J. Alexander (Canton, Ohio, 26 de noviembre de 1918 – 27 de abril de 2010) fue un economista, politólogo, historiador y americanista estadounidense, especializado en el estudio de Latinoamérica y el comunismo.

Biografía

Nacido en Canton, estado de Ohio,[1]​ en 1918,[2]​ fue profesor de Economía en la Universidad Rutgers[3]​[4]​ y se especializó en el estudio de Latinoamérica y el comunismo en la región.[2]​ Falleció en 2010.[2]​ De ideología anticomunista,[5]​ entre los temas objeto de estudio de su obra se encuentran el Gobierno del argentino Juan Domingo Perón;[6]​[7]​[4]​ la revolución de 1952 en Bolivia;[8]​ el Partido Comunista de Venezuela,[9]​ el trotskismo latinoamericano,[10]​ el Gobierno de Salvador Allende,[11]​ la Oposición de Derecha,[12]​ el maoísmo,[13]​ el venezolano Rómulo Betancourt[14]​ o el brasileño Juscelino Kubitschek,[15]​ entre otros.
