Story of the Year on yhdysvaltalainen vuonna 1995 perustettu yhtye St. Louisista, Missourista. Yhtye oli alun perin nimeltään 67 North, mutta he muuttivat sen sitten Big Blue Monkeyksi. Nimi vaihtui nykyiseksi Story of the Year -EP:n jälkeen vuonna 2002 yhtyeen saatua tietää, että Big Blue Monkey -niminen yhtye oli jo olemassa.
