Denny Laine, vero nome Brian Frederick Hines (Birmingham, 29 ottobre 1944 – Naples, 5 dicembre 2023), è stato un cantautore, chitarrista e bassista britannico.

Nel 1965-66 fu chitarrista e primo cantante di The Moody Blues, dopodiché incise due album con Ginger Baker's Air Force, entrambi nel 1970, e l'anno seguente fondò i Wings con Paul e Linda McCartney. Assieme allo stesso Paul McCartney, Laine firmò il singolo di maggior successo della band: Mull of Kintyre (1977) e più in generale scrisse vari brani per i Wings sia da solo che in coppia con l'ex Beatle. Durante la militanza stabile nel gruppo (1971-1981) pubblicò anche tre album da solista e come tale proseguì la carriera anche dopo il loro scioglimento.

Colpito da COVID-19 nel 2022, subì in seguito vari interventi chirurgici per disturbi polmonari, tra cui uno pneumotorace^[1]. Grazie a una raccolta fondi lanciata sulla piattaforma GoFundMe da sua moglie Elizabeth Mele per sostenere le sue cure, il 27 novembre 2023 fu organizzato per lui un concerto di beneficenza presso il night club Troubadour a West Hollywood^[2]. Laine morì una settimana dopo a Naples (Florida) la mattina del 5 dicembre 2023, all'età di 79 anni, per le complicazioni di un'interstiziopatia polmonare^[1].
