ノーマン・I・プラトニック（Norman I. Platnick,1951年12月30日 - 2020年4月8日）は、アメリカ合衆国のクモ学者である。アメリカ自然史博物館 invertebrate zoology（無脊椎動物学）departmentのPeter J. Solomon Family学芸員。

経歴

1963年に、ハーバード大学でPh.D.を取得したプラトニックは、北米のイボナガジョウゴグモ科からオーストラリアのオジロワシグモに至るまで世界中の様々な場所における数千種ものクモを記述してきた。また、アメリカ自然史博物館がホストしているウェブサイト、World Spider Catalogの管理者でもある。World Spider Webは、クモ学に関する文献をトラックし、これまでに記述された全てのクモの種を分類学的に整理した総合目録を維持しようと試みている。2007年、このカタログに関する業績を認められて国際クモ学会のBonnet賞を受賞した。

2020年4月8日、転倒が原因の合併症で死去。68歳没^[1][2]。
