『快中尉』（かいちゅうい、原題：The Trail of Hate）は、1917年にアメリカで公開されたサイレント映画。現在は失われた映画と認識されている。アメリカ西部とフィリピンにそれぞれ駐留する2人の陸軍将校の個人的な軍功争いを描いた物語である。
この企画は当時まだ「ジャック・フォード」とクレジットされていたジョン・フォードが企画した[注釈 2]。この短編映画はジョン・フォードのフィルモグラフィとされており、2作目の監督作品である。フォードはさまざな情報源で脚本としてクレジットされている。しかしながらフォードの伝記作家の何人か特にピーター・ボグダノヴィッチはこの映画の脚本、監督はフォードの兄であるフランシス・フォードであるとしている[1] [注釈 3]。

Kawin (New York: Macmillan Publishing Company, 1987, pp. 46-47), a 1000-foot theatrical reel of film in the silent era was generally projected at a speed of 16 frames per second, considerably slower than the 24 frames in the sound era. A full silent reel therefore had a maximum running time of 15-16 minutes. Most reels, especially the final reels in multiple-reel releases, were not filled to their maximum capacities.
