Tujuh gereja Asia
Tujuh Gereja Wahyu, juga dikenal sebagai Tujuh Gereja Asia, ialah tujuh gereja besar Kekristianan Awal, seperti yang disebutkan dalam Kitab Wahyu Perjanjian Baru. Kesemuanya terletak di Asia Kecil, Turki sekarang.
Penerangan
Menurut Wahyu 1:11, di pulau Patmos Yunani, Yesus Kristus memerintahkan Yohanes Patmos untuk: "Tulislah di atas gulungan apa yang kamu lihat dan kirimkan ke tujuh gereja: ke Efesus, dan ke Smyrna, dan ke Pergamum, dan ke Thyatira, dan ke Sardis, dan ke Philadelphia, dan ke Laodicea."[1] Gereja-gereja dalam konteks ini merujuk kepada komuniti atau jemaat tempatan orang Kristian yang tinggal di setiap bandar.
