Amy Hempel (14.12. 1951.-) je američka novelistica, novinarka i profesorica na Sarah Lawrence Collegeu. Hempel se smatra minimalističkom spisateljicom, te se zajedno s Raymondom Carverom i Mary Robison, smatra jednim od rijetkih autora koji je slavu stekao isključivo na kratkoj prozi.
