Abtar (Persian: ابطر)[a] is a village in, and the capital of, Nowabad Rural District of Arvandkenar District, Abadan County, Khuzestan province, Iran.[3]

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 39 in 8 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 40 people in 10 households.[5] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 27 people in 8 households.[2]
